Senior Data Analyst

The following role will be for a fixed term contract of between 6 months and 3 years and be based in Muscat – the capital city of Oman. This will be a key role supporting the growth of the company and developing the knowledge and skills of local staff.

The vision is to become a best in class Credit Bureau partnering the Omani Credit industry in driving financial inclusion and responsible lending in Oman.

Overview of Position

The Senior Data Analyst (SDA) will be a key member of the IT department. This department is responsible for the technical operations of the Credit Bureau. The SDA will be expected to be the lead Credit Bureau data expert for Oman and ensure that the data quality of the system meets all requirements.  Additionally the SDA will be responsible for developing the local IT team and ensuring they become self-sufficient in the data operations of the Credit Bureau system in Oman.

The SDA will be supported by Creditinfo Group expert staff in delivering their role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Credit Bureau system data expert working on data quality and subscriber’s issues
  • Responsible for communication with external data sources providers (integration level, issues found, data structures changes)
  • Owns data submission process for Member institutions and helps to resolve problems
  • Create data quality reports and supports Member institutions in data quality improvements
  • Support testing processes and executes data related tests (integration, functional, etc.)
  • Working week Sunday to Thursday


Candidate Requirements


  • Deep knowledge of Credit Bureau systems from a data perspective
  • Depp understanding of database structures of related Credit Bureau systems
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Demonstrate practical advanced knowledge of SQL and XML
  • Able to work with logs and look for data issues
  • Familiar with techniques and tools available for data presentation
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Be based and eligible to work in Muscat, Oman or willing to relocate
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness of working in the GCC region
  • Fluent in English

Highly Desirable

  • Arabic language skills
  • Proven ability to train and develop colleagues in Credit Risk
  • Ambitious / Driven character
  • Communicative person – to lead training sessions and transfer knowledge to others
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Self-confident and decisive with a high level of personal impact.
