Credit & Data Analyst

Background

The following role will be for a fixed term contract of between 6 months and 3 years and be based in Muscat – the capital city of Oman. This will be a key role supporting the growth of the company and developing the knowledge and skills of local staff.

The vision is to become a best in class Credit Bureau partnering the Omani Credit industry in driving financial inclusion and responsible lending in Oman.

Overview of Position

The Credit & Data Analyst (CDA) will be a key member of the Business Operations department. This department is responsible for delivering the revenue targets.

The CDA will work on the development and sale of Value Added products. They will be expected to identify opportunities in the market for the sale of existing products and also to lead the delivery of such sales.  These products include but are not exclusively, Credit Risk Scoring models, decision engines and monitoring and reporting tools.

The CDA will be expected to work closely with Creditinfo Group expert staff to support their delivery of the local office goals. In essence, they will be representing Creditinfo within the local office.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Working with Creditinfo Group experts, develop and implement Credit Risk analytic products for OCB
  • Assist the local office in meeting its targets through the selling of Value Added Products and support all other local sales activities.
  • Supporting the sales and customer management teams to explain and provide insights into their portfolio of products, data, and services ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction are achieved.
  • Creating and utilizing for business value, analytical reports from the benchmarking tool
  • Support data quality efforts of the local office through providing analysis and insight into data issues.
  • Provide credit risk consultancy to support optimum use of VAPs
  • Be a technical and industry expert in the field of Credit Risk Management in Oman
  • Be knowledge leader for the local office and assist in developing local staff
  • Working week Sunday to Thursday

 

Candidate Requirements

 Mandatory

  • Proven experience in a Credit Risk Analytics role
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to develop Credit Risk Models both internally and by 3rd parties
  • Proven strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledgeable about all aspects of the Credit Lifecycle; demonstrate understanding of client requirements from Credit Risk
  • Be based and eligible to work in Muscat, Oman or willing to relocate
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness of working in the GCC region
  • Numeric based bachelor’s degree
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels within a multicultural organization both internally and within client organisations
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Highly Desirable

  • Detailed technical and operational knowledge of Credit Bureaus
  • Arabic language skills
  • Proven ability to train and develop colleagues in Credit Risk
  • Self-confident and decisive with a high level of personal impact.
